Spring Blooms in Hong Kong: A Season of Renewal and Beauty

Dragonflies at Po Lin Monastery

Between the months of November and April we get to experience a short season of cooler weather. Winter in Hong Kong reminds me of spring or autumn days in Italy or the UK; blue skies and sunny days mixed with rainy and chilly days. Many trees lose their foliage, and yellow and brown leaves litter the floors around the city. At the same time, new plants start to grow and for many trees the climate is perfect for blooming.

This mixture of decay and rebirth attracts all kinds of wildlife - especially birds and insects - that sing and flutter in parks and balconies.

I love the colours of this spring/autumn season and I wanted to share with you some pictures I’ve taken in parks around Kowloon.
