BTS: Floral Fantasia, my new collection of hand painted frames
I’ve always had a soft spot for handicrafts. They're so full of character and personality. Each one is different, and they all reflect the artist's skills and style. When I lived in Mexico, I loved wandering through markets, checking out the wood carvings, embroidered clothes, and hand-painted pottery. Each piece was so colourful and had its own unique personality.
A while back, I noticed that hand-painted objects were really popular in the interior design world. People were taking boring, mass-produced furniture and walls and giving them a makeover with brushes and paint, creating one-of-a-kind pieces for their homes and offices. It was so cool to see how a little bit of creativity could totally transform a boring object.
This year, I decided to have a go and see what it was like to paint on wood myself. I was totally new to the whole thing, but with some YouTube tutorials and lots of practice, I figured out which paints worked best and which techniques got me the look I wanted. The whole process was really satisfying - I love seeing my creations come to life!
My new collection, Floral Fantasia, is the product of months of hard work and inspiration. Each frame set and painting was dreamed up and painted by my own hands. There are seven original hand painted frame sets and four paintings. I poured my love of nature into every brushstroke, making sure each design was full of detail and charm. You can mix and match them or display them individually - either way, they'll add a burst of botanical beauty to any space!
These pieces would look beautiful on the wall, or you can prop them up on a shelf. They would make a sweet gift for anyone who loves flowers and colour.
