Sustainability

Sustainability from the Heart

I've been fascinated by plants and animals since I was a small girl living in Colombia. My artwork is inspired by all the flora and fauna I've seen both in my native country and travelling around the world.

Celebrating and protecting wildlife and their natural habitats is at the heart of what I do. I'm committed to minimise the impact of my work on the environment and to contribute to its protection.

Plastic Free Packaging

Our planet is choking on plastic. It’s staggering to know that up to five trillion plastic bags are used worldwide every year. There’s even a floating plastic island in the middle of the ocean called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch that is around three times the size of France.

For this reason, I have made the conscious decision to remove plastic from all the packaging and supply chain to stop contributing to plastic pollution.

Beautiful packaging doesn’t have to pollute the planet.

While my commitment to eliminating plastic is unwavering, I understand that there are cases where plastic is necessary. In such instances, I choose to use recycled plastic or plant-based plastic as a more eco-friendly alternative. I acknowledge this is not a perfect solution, but I am determined to make the best choice possible under the given circumstances.

I also encourage you, my lovely customers, to join me in my efforts by reusing these plastic alternatives as much as possible. I believe that we can make choices, no matter how small, that contribute to a healthier planet.

Buy 1 Product Plant 3 Trees

I am conscious of the impact that shipping my products worldwide has on the environment.

For every product you buy, 3 trees will be planted in Indonesia with onetreeplanted.org. Tree planting has been proven to be an effective way to capture large amounts of carbon-dioxide; it has been scientifically proven to be one of the most effective ways to fight climate change.

By far the greatest threat to Indonesia’s forests comes from conversion of land to palm oil plantations - one of the main ingredients in make-up and soaps.

Sustainable Materials

I take great care in researching and selecting the materials for my products, ensuring they are eco-friendly and sustainable. From the fabric of my scarves to the paper used for my Fine Art Prints and the packaging for all my products, each one has been thoughtfully chosen.

My Fine Art Prints are printed on FSC certified archival paper with archival inks, guaranteeing a long-lasting, high-quality piece of art. Each print is carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue paper for delivery, protecting your investment while also considering the environment.

When it comes to my scarves, I've chosen silk as the fabric because of its luxurious feel. Silk is biodegradable and requires much less water and chemical dyeing than other fabrics like cotton. With proper care, a silk scarf can be a durable and timeless addition to your wardrobe.

All my packaging materials, including envelopes, tissue paper, and labels, are made from 100% recycled materials, further minimising the environmental impact of my products.

By planting trees, I am supporting the protection of highly endangered animals, helping to reduce the impact of the fires and supporting local communities with education programs.
